Auburn football’s offensive line faces a major test against Vanderbilt after allowing seven sacks against Florida. Vanderbilt enters the matchup tied for third in the SEC with 12 sacks. Pass protection has become one of Auburn’s biggest concerns, with Byrum Brown taking far too many sacks through the opening portion of the 2026 season. Vanderbilt’s level of competition provides important context, but its ability to generate pressure still creates an uncomfortable matchup for the Tigers. Alex Golesh acknowledged Auburn is still searching for its best combination of five offensive linemen after the Florida loss. But how many changes can Auburn realistically make? Joe Simmons and Stanton Ramil remain the options at tackle. Wilson Zierer has already replaced Jacob Strand at left guard, while Cole Best and Cole Skinner occupy the other interior positions. The bigger question might not be whether Auburn changes personnel. It’s whether the current starting five can improve quickly enough to keep Brown clean and prevent Vanderbilt’s pass rush from taking over the game. Auburn cannot afford another seven-sack performance. #AuburnFootball #VanderbiltFootball #WarEagle Photo Credit: Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
