Auburn football must unleash Byrum Brown early against LSU if the Tigers want another massive SEC upset! After shocking Georgia in Athens, can Alex Golesh and Joel Gordon build an offensive game plan that puts Auburn's biggest weapon to work immediately? On today's Auburn HIT, we break down why Byrum Brown's rushing ability could determine Saturday's matchup against LSU at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Brown has rushed for more than 100 yards in back-to-back games against two of the SEC's toughest defenses. Pro Football Focus also ranks him third nationally among rushing quarterbacks this season. But Auburn continues to struggle with slow starts. The Tigers fell behind Georgia 14-0 before mounting their comeback. Against an LSU defense that presents another major challenge, Auburn cannot afford to spend the opening quarter searching for its offensive identity. Should Joel Gordon call No. 17's number on the very first drive? Plus, Auburn basketball and Alabama basketball delivered an intense preseason exhibition that felt anything but meaningless! Steven Pearl and Nate Oats exchanged heated moments, the players brought plenty of physicality, and the rivalry atmosphere was already in full force. Despite Auburn falling short, the exhibition provided an early look at what Pearl's team could become once its roster is healthy and eligible.
