Auburn football needs several players to deliver huge performances if the Tigers are going to upset Tennessee in Knoxville. And we're looking beyond Byrum Brown. It starts with Cole Best. Auburn's interior offensive line showed improvement against Vanderbilt, but the Tigers still haven't consistently generated enough push at the line of scrimmage. Against Tennessee's defensive front, Best gets another major test. On defense, Jared Smith needs to become a difference-maker again. Auburn believed enough in Smith's potential that it didn't make a major portal addition at edge. We've seen flashes of his ability, including against Baylor, but the Tigers need him consistently winning one-on-one matchups. Then there's Chas Nimrod. The former Tennessee receiver finally flashed his vertical ability with a long touchdown against Vanderbilt. Now he returns to Knoxville with an opportunity to make a statement against his former team. Finally, Champ Anthony. Auburn has moved Anthony around the secondary, including snaps at outside corner opposite Rayshawn Pleasant. His versatility gives DJ Durkin options, but Auburn needs more production from him regardless of where he lines up. Cole Best. Jared Smith. Chas Nimrod. Champ Anthony. If Auburn is going to pull off the upset, these four could have a major say in whether it happens. #AuburnFootball #WarEagle #AuburnTigers Photo Credit: Brett Davis IMAGN Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
